Wellness Tips From KEGJOY™

Posted on 4th February, 2021

What better way to start a new year than by crafting a wellness plan? We see 2021 as an opportunity to grow, live life to the fullest, and be healthy. This blog post was written to help you craft a plan which will help you have a healthy and positive 2021.

To start you will need to:

Make a Vision Board - Grab some magazines and create a vision board for 2021. Cut out words and images that inspire you and of things you'd love to have in your life. Most importantly, focus on how you want to feel.

If you've never made one before, here is a great article on how to make a Vision board and why visualization is so powerful.

Find What Feels Good

  • Go get that pedicure, massage, haircut, or all three! - Spend the money and do it without feeling guilty for spending it on yourself. Yes, you can do everything yourself and save money but sometimes it's nice to sit back and relax. We can get so focused on other needs that we forget to be grateful for ourselves. Do something nice for yourself.
  • Do something that makes OTHERS feel good - Volunteer, give away some smiles and hugs, go through your closet and donate clothes you didn't wear in 2021, do something to help others. Giving feels great! Sometimes we forget how good it feels. Remind yourself today!
  • Meditate and Breathe - If your mind goes a million miles a minute, take a 10-minute break to meditate and breathe. Youtube has a ton of great guided meditation videos. Or take 30 seconds and do a deep breathing technique called box breathing that the Navy SEALS use. Think of a box or look around the room for a box-shaped object. Breathe in for 4 seconds and visually go across the top of the box. Hold your breath for 4 seconds visually going down the side of the box. Breathe out for 4 seconds going across the bottom and then hold for 4 seconds going up the side of the box. Continue this breathing pattern around the box. You'll notice a calming sensation quite quickly.
  • Balance your Gut - Notice how sluggish and pudgy you feel after processed foods? Yeah, us too. It's hard to eat perfectly all the time but it does make a difference. A healthy gut helps with digestion, energy levels, immunity, and more. We love getting probiotics through kombucha, yogurt, and other fermented foods.
